A. Faith is the Word of God / The Word is the Faith of God
Romans 10:8
1. But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is,the word of faith, which we preach
a. The word of means origin, and the origin of something means the point or place where something is derived. It’s where it gets it’s life from
b. You can’t separate the Word from faith, or faith from the word. Faith and the Word are like water and wet, you need water to get wet they are one. Faith is the Word and The Word is Faith. No Word, No Faith
c. The Word of God doesn’t have faith. The Word of God is faith. When I find the Word of God I find the faith of God
B. Faith Cometh By Hearing
Romans 10:17
1. So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
a. We are not talking about human faith or faith outside of the Word of God. This is the God-kind of faith.
b. Faith will not come until you hear the Word, if I don’t hear the Word, I’m not receiving faith. Every time you open your bible there is faith, you are reading something already in existence. When you read the bible, you are hearing the Word which is faith. Faith is coming to you.
C. Obtaining a Good Report
1. Hebrews 11:2, "By it (faith) the elders obtained a good report. Every great man of God operated in faith, if they didn’t know what faith was they wouldn’t have had the victory."
a. We must apply faith (the Word) in our lives. If we don’t apply all we have is knowledge.
b. Everywhere in the bible where you see faith you need to say out loud the Word.
Hebrews 11:1, "Now faith (the Word) is the substance of things hoped for (the Word is the evidence) of things not seen."
1 Corinthians 5:7 says "We walk by faith (the Word) not by sight."
Hebrews 11:6 "Without faith (the Word) it is impossible"
